(PatriotWise.com)- Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson has never been afraid to stand up to the Democrats and the far left, and that’s exactly what he did last week in response to the circulation of a mysterious letter signed by the “Proud Members of the United States Capitol Police.”
The letter, which originated from Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin’s office, was circulated ahead of a vote in Congress on a bill that would establish a 9/11-style commission to investigate the “facts” and “truth” about the January 6, Washington D.C. riots.
The controversial idea for a commission came from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic member of Congress who spearheaded much of the Congressional efforts to silence and stop former President Donald Trump. It is widely considered to be a political tool or a “weapon” as Senator Marco Rubio calls it, to attack Republicans and smear the former president.
In the letter allegedly signed by the Capitol Hill Police Department, every member of the United States Congress was urged to support the commission, and disappointment about Republicans’ lack of support for the idea was also detailed.
The problem? The Capitol Hill police department said that they didn’t write it. In a tweet, the department said that the letter is “NOT an official USCP statement” and that they do “NOT take positions on legislation.”

Carlson slammed Democrats for pushing a false narrative, including Senator Chuck Schumer’s suggestion that the riot was comparable to the American Civil War. He added that the Capitol Hill police are “effectively an armed political action committee” and asked what other partisan demands they may make in the future.
Assuming that the letter really did come from Capitol Police officers, it’s an important point.
“Do Capitol Hill cops have strong views on voter ID laws? How about taxpayer-funded abortions, or our next trade deal with China? If so, they’ve got the muscle to make their voices heard. You can see why this is setting a very bad precedent,” Carlson said.
