(PatriotWise.com)- While the Russian Federation continued to deny that its troops have targeted and destroyed residential buildings in hospitals in Ukraine – let alone the killing of innocent civilians – new satellite footage shows that there are many large mass graves in Ukrainian towns and cities where dead civilians are buried.
Maxar Technologies, a space imaging company, this week published a series of satellite images that show what appears to be a mass grave in Bucha, a suburb of Kiev. Russian troops are currently leaving the region, and have left behind scenes of chaos, destruction, and devastation.
Footage released over the weekend also showed lines of dead bodies, many with their hands tied behind their backs, lining the streets.
Reports of a mass grave in Bucha came out on Sunday, when Reuters said that witnesses on the ground had seen one such grave at a church.
On Monday, however, Russian diplomats denied reports of mass graves and even said that video footage and images released by The Associated Press were…fake.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on television on Monday that there was a “fake attack launched in the city of Bucha,” implying that Ukrainian soldiers are murdering their own people and destroying their own residential buildings.
“After the Russian military personnel left from there in accordance with plans and agreements, a few days later they staged this fake, which is being dispersed through all channels and social networks by Ukrainian representatives and their Western patrons,” Lavrov claimed.
If Russia sticks by those claims, then who can ever prove them wrong?
Russia’s deputy speaker of the upper house of parliament, Konstantin Kosachev, also said that there is “no doubt whatsoever that it was staged,” referring to the footage from Bucha.
But whatever they say, it doesn’t change the fact that mass graves can be seen in the satellite images below, and that it makes no sense that Ukrainian soldiers would murder and torture innocent Ukrainian civilians.
NEW: A mass grave has been identified in Bucha, Ukraine, northwest of Kyiv.
The first signs of the excavation were seen on March 10th. More recent coverage on March 31st shows the grave site with an approximately 45-foot long trench.
