Vladimir Putin Stripped Of Black Belt Title After Invasion

(PatriotWise.com)- World Taekwondo announced last Sunday that it would take back the honorary black belt it had given to Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2013 in protest of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

That’ll teach him!

In addition to stripping Putin of his honorary black belt, World Taekwondo will no longer allow the Russian or Belarusian flags to be displayed at future events, nor would they permit the playing of their national anthems.

In a tweet condemning Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, World Taekwondo said Russia’s “brutal attacks” on civilians in Ukraine go against its “vision of ‘Peace is More Precious than Triumph’” and its “values of respect and tolerance.”

Putin doesn’t practice taekwondo, however, he does hold a black belt in judo and even wrote a book about judo.

But the Judo people aren’t happy with Putin either.

The International Judo Federation also announced last Sunday that it would remove Vladimir Putin as its honorary president and ambassador over his invasion of Ukraine. The federation also canceled a planned judo tournament that was to take place in Russia over the summer.

Since the invasion of Ukraine, Russia has been barred from several other sporting organizations as well. Russia will not be permitted to qualify for this year’s World Cup and the International Olympic Committee has urged sports federations to bar Russian and Belarusian athletes from competing as well.

Russian athletes have also been barred from competing in the Beijing Paralympics.

And in a move that is sure to put a stop to Russia’s war in Ukraine, the Federation Internationale Feline (FIFe) announced last Thursday that Russian cats would be banned from all competitions until at least June.

In its statement, the board of FIFe said that it “feels it cannot just witness these atrocities and do nothing.”

So they decided to do something that will ultimately do nothing.

Meanwhile, people on social media are calling for the boycott of any international corporation that refuses to suspend business in Russia.
