(PatriotWise.com)- A lot of the same people that are turning a blind eye to Joe Biden’s increasing cognitive difficulties are expressing concerns over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s mental state.
In short, Putin invading Ukraine is proof that he’s not all there.
Lawmakers, so-called “experts” and “analysts,” not to mention administration officials, have been speculating that isolation during the COVID pandemic has turned Vladimir Putin into a paranoid, irrational hot mess.
In an appearance on ABC News on Monday, press secretary Jen Psaki said she wasn’t going to speculate on Putin’s mental state. Then, adding a “but,” she did just that. She said Putin’s rhetoric and actions, not to mention his justification for invading Ukraine “are certainly deeply concerning to us.”
If Putin’s behavior is “deeply concerning,” shouldn’t Joe Biden’s behavior concern the White House as well? Perhaps the White House should turn its attention a little closer to home.
US intel agencies have strategically leaked to the press that they are keeping a close eye on Putin’s erratic behavior.
Republican Senator Marco Rubio, who serves on the Senate Intelligence Committee, teased on Twitter that he knows more than he can publicly divulge about Putin’s mental state, hinting that he had non-public information about the Russian leader’s health.
Rubio said watching Putin’s recent public speeches reveal a striking change in his demeanor. Gone is the Vladimir Putin who has always valued emotional control. Now, Rubio said, Putin is showing “flashes of anger” that are not characteristic of him.
And because Putin is behaving so differently today, Rubio said, we cannot assume he will act the same way he would have ten or fifteen years ago. That makes this a “very dangerous moment,” Rubio said.
Obama’s former ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul, told NBC News on Sunday that Putin is becoming “increasingly unhinged.”
Others are blaming Putin’s change in behavior on his near-isolation during the COVID pandemic when the Russian president spent most of his time in a “bunker” with very little outside contact. This, they suggest, has shaken his grasp on reality.
