Brandon Rogers, 44, and Heather Black, 36, face serious charges in a disturbing child abuse case. The Springfield Police Department arrested the couple after reports surfaced of them using a Taser on their children. The investigation started on September 17, 2024, following the discovery of injuries on their 7-year-old son. This arrest has drawn national attention due to the grievous nature of the alleged discipline method.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the couple’s residence, discovering evidence corroborating the accounts of abuse. Apart from their son, it is reported their 4-year-old daughter was also targeted. Authorities charged Rogers and Black with multiple counts, including Assault III, Unlawful Use of a Stun Gun, and Criminal Mistreatment I.

Pattern of Escalating Abuse Uncovered

Continued investigation revealed an ongoing pattern of abuse. “Through the course of the investigation, it was learned Rogers and Black had physically abused their son, on two reported occasions, by tasing him as a form of discipline,” according to the Springfield Police Department.

Authorities rearrested the couple on October 29 after new evidence came to light. Detailing the severity of the situation, charges against Rogers now include Assault II x5, Criminal Mistreatment I x5, Unlawful Use of a Weapon x7, and Menacing x7.
