During the attempted arrest, shots were fired, and the driver was struck. Despite immediate efforts to provide emergency medical aid, the driver succumbed to his injuries. The Elmore County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death and release the driver’s identity after notification of next-of-kin.
