(PatriotWise.com) — As Florida governor Ron DeSantis kicks off his 2024 presidential run, Democrats are scrambling to paint the GOP as the party of racism and danger. Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state in the Obama administration and failed 2016 presidential candidate, recently supported the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s travel advisory, according to Newsmax.
The advisory reportedly put the Sunshine State on a list of places considered dangerous for people of color, and Clinton included “LGBTQ+ people, or even multi-billion dollar corporations.” Clinton called Florida under DeSantis’ leadership “ultra MAGA.” Clinton has comments turned off of her posts. She included a screenshot from a news outlet stating that that Disney backtracked on a $1 billion project that would have created more than 2,000 jobs.

Disney has been feuding with the governor since it has taken a part in the “culture war” and criticized him for going after parents and children in a bill, called the “Parental Rights in Education Act,” that disallowed teachers to talk about gender identity and other explicit topics to children in classrooms.
The NAACP claimed that Florida was not safe because there have been efforts by the governor to do away with black history and prohibit DEI programs. In June 2022, DeSantis passed the “Stop WOKE Act,” which banned critical race theory and other racist theories from being taught in school.
CRT posits that black people are inherently discriminated against because the United States was built on racism; therefore, white people benefit from invisible structures designed to prop them up while pushing minorities down.
Republican Party of Florida Chair Christian Ziegler pointed out the hypocrisy of the NAACP’s advisory and called out its Board of Directors Chair Leon Russell for living in Florida. Russell fought back, saying that the organization has not recommended that people leave the state but encourages them to “fight.”
