If RFK Jr. Gets On The Ballot, Tim Scott Believes It Will “Bleed Votes From The Democrats”

(PatriotWise.com) — On the heels of independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. naming his running mate, Republican Senator Tim Scott, as a possible pick for Trump’s running mate, it was suggested that Kennedy would likely siphon liberal voters from President Biden in the general election, The Hill reported.

In an interview on Newsmax’s “Eric Bolling: The Balance” last Wednesday, Senator Scott told host Eric Bolling that a third-party candidate on November’s ballot would “bleed votes” from Democrat Joe Biden regardless of the vice presidential pick.

In a campaign event in Oakland, California last Tuesday, Kennedy announced that he had chosen philanthropist Nicole Shanahan as his vice president.

The 38-year-old California attorney is the founder of Bia-Echo Foundation, a philanthropic organization that supports groups that advocate for criminal justice reform, climate change, and abortion rights. She was previously married to Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

Kennedy described his running mate as a daughter of immigrants who grew up impoverished in Oakland and overcame “daunting” odds to achieve the American dream.

Senator Scott described Shanahan as a “dyed-in-the-wool liberal,” who believed that “America is only better if we change who we are.” He said Shanahan promoted the “redistribution of wealth” and argued that he was a “living, breathing testament” that “if you work hard, you get lucky.”

The South Carolina Republican, who suspended his presidential campaign months before the Iowa caucus, endorsed Trump in January and has been a frequent guest at Trump rallies.

Scott said Kennedy’s choice of Nicole Shanahan would have Democrats “scurrying around” trying to keep voters from jumping ship. He said with Kennedy on the ballot, the DNC would have to spend campaign money to run ads just to keep “black voters in Detroit loyal to the Democrat Party.”

Following Kennedy’s Tuesday announcement, Trump described the Kennedy/Shanahan ticket as “great for MAGA.”

Trump said Shanahan was even more liberal than RFK, which he suggested was nearly impossible since “Kennedy is a Radical Left Democrat.”

The former president also said the Democrats would “make it very hard” for Kennedy to appear on state ballots and suggested that RFK and Shanahan may even be “indicted any day now.”
