(PatriotWise.com) — Based on a recent poll, voters aren’t eager to see either Joe Biden or Donald Trump serve another four years in the White House, the Associated Press reported.
A new Associated Press/NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll released on Monday found that the vast majority of voters, 77 percent, believe that Joe Biden’s age impedes his serving another term in office. Even the majority of Democratic respondents, 69 percent, think Biden is too old.
Likewise, a majority, 51 percent, say Donald Trump’s age is a problem. While only 28 percent of Republicans believe Trump’s age precludes another term in office, 71 percent of Democrats consider Trump’s age a problem.
When asked about the first word that springs to mind to best describe President Biden, 26 percent said old, outdated, elderly, or aging. Another 15 percent said he was confused, slow, or bumbling.
Despite the investigations into Biden’s ongoing influence-peddling scandals, only 6 percent of respondents said the first word they think of is corrupt, crooked, or criminal. Additionally, Biden’s penchant for peddling lies about his biography and the state of the country had little bearing on voters, with only 2 percent choosing liar, untrustworthy, or dishonest to describe the president.
For Donald Trump, 15 percent described him as corrupt, crooked, or criminal. Another 8 percent chose liar, dishonest, or untrustworthy, while only 1 percent chose old, outdated, elderly, or aging.
Across the board, voters favor imposing age limits on elected officials and the Supreme Court, with around two-thirds of voters supporting placing an age limit on candidates for president and Congress as well as a retirement age for Supreme Court Justices.
A majority, 66 percent, supports an age limit for presidential candidates, while 68 percent support an age limit to run for the Senate or House. Meanwhile, 67 percent, support a mandatory retirement age for Supreme Court justices.
