Kevin Spacey Says Assaulting Victim Wasn’t First Move

(PatriotWise.com) — During day two of testimony in his criminal sexual assault trial, disgraced actor Kevin Spacey denied that groping men is his “trademark” pick-up move, Fox News reported.

Spacey is on trial in London charged with sexual assault, indecent assault, and causing someone to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent related to incidents involving four different men in the London area from 2001 to 2013 when Spacey was artistic director of the Old Vic theater.

The 63-year-old actor has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Spacey described the encounter alleged by one accuser as “pure fantasy,” and insisted that the encounters with two of the other accusers were consensual. Spacey appeared to accept the claim made by the fourth accuser, admitting that he made a “clumsy pass” after a night of heavy drinking.

Spacey vehemently denied groping one of his accusers, saying their relationship was “intimate” and “somewhat casual.” He told the jury that he never thought that the man would “stab me in the back” twenty years later.

All four accusers described being caught off guard when Spacey aggressively grabbed their genitals through their clothing. But Spacey called the claims that he groped them “madness,” describing his advances as gentle stroking.

During opening statements last month, Crown Prosecutor Christine Agnew called Spacey a “sexual bully” who doesn’t respect personal boundaries and “delights” in making someone feel uncomfortable and powerless.

Agnew said Spacey’s “preferred method of assault” was aggressively grabbing men in the crotch.

In his opening statements, Spacey’s attorney Patrick Gibbs said his client denied the allegations and suggested that the accusers had nefarious motives for bringing their complaints.

Spacey was first accused of sexual harassment during the height of the MeToo movement in 2017 when actor Anthony Rapp revealed that Spacey assaulted him at a party in the 1980s when he was a teenager.

Rapp filed a civil suit against Spacey for the alleged incident, but the jury found Spacey not liable.
