Lindsey Graham Says the US Needs To Strike Iran

( — Republican Senator Lindsey Graham is urging the Biden administration to “hit Iran” if attacks by its proxies result in the deaths of American troops, Real Clear Politics reported.

While appearing on “Fox & Friends” last Wednesday, the South Carolina senator was discussing the ongoing attacks on US military personnel by Iranian-backed militias in Iraq and Syria and the attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea by the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Accusing the Biden administration and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin of “failing our troops in the field,” Graham suggested that if the United States could beat Germany and Japan, it “should be able to beat the Houthis.”

Graham noted that he has “been saying for six months” that the United States should “hit Iran.”

Graham argued that Iran’s oil fields and the Revolutionary Guard headquarters are “out in the open” and can be seen “from space.” He said if the Biden administration wants to “protect American soldiers,” the US should “make it real to the Ayatollah” and blow Iran “off the map.”

On December 22, the White House accused Iran of being closely involved in the Houthi attacks on vessels in the Red Sea by supplying drones and missiles to the Houthis and providing tactical intelligence.

The following day, Iran’s foreign ministry dismissed the claims, saying the Houthis were acting on their own.

Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri told the Iranian news agency Mehr that the Houthis have their “own tools” and are taking action based on their “own decisions and capabilities.” He added that just because the Americans and Israelis are suffering strikes from the Houthi rebels, it should not “call into question the reality of the strength of the resistance in the region.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said during a December 23 conference in Tehran that Iran had made it clear to the United States that the militia groups had decided how to support Gaza “based on their interests. ” He insisted that Tehran “will not order them to stop the attacks.”
